Handbook of X Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy: A Reference Book of Standard Spectra for Identification and Interpretation of Xps Data
Published in Hardcover by Physical Electronics (February, 1995)
Authors: John F. Moulder, William F. Stickle, Peter E. Sobol, and Kenneth D. Bomben
Average review score:

A must-buy
I thoroughly recommend the purchase of this book to anyone engaged in the study of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as it almost functions as a "bible" of standard spectra for the elements. I also like the simple summary of the technique which actually includes a lot of information that would be hard to tease out of the overly technical texts on XPS that are around. For Universities and Research Institutes who have personnel experienced in XPS or who have the instrumentation, it is an essential purchase

Haunted Castles: The Complete Gothic Tales of Ray Russell
Published in Hardcover by Maclay & Assoc (September, 1985)
Author: Ray Russell
Average review score:

Modern master of the Gothic Horror Story at his best.
No one in the latter half of this century has mastered the Gothic Horror form better than Ray Russell. This collection of his best is headed by his masterpiece novella "Sardonicus" which no less a writer than Stephen King calls the greatest modern gothic horror story ever written. Step back a century or more (or into the future!) and enjoy the modern master of this form at his best.

Haunted Kids
Published in Paperback by Troll Assoc (July, 1993)
Authors: Bruce M. Nash, Allan Zullo, Ray Villwock, and Bruce Nach
Average review score:

Haunted Kids
Even though it's a little hard to beleive, it's a REALLY good book. Every time I want to get scared, I read this book over and over. I practically have every story memorized! Since all of the stories were especially good, none of them could be my "favorite".

Hawks: A Novel
Published in Hardcover by Presidio Pr (May, 1994)
Author: Ray Rosenbaum
Average review score:

Must read for old pilots
If you've ever flown for the Air Force (or Army Air Corps), especially in WWII, or the decade or two thereafter, this book will bring back a lot of the details of your flying days. Ray certainly remembers and/or has researched well, and I am now going to seek out his other books. He's not Ernest Gann, but darn close to it when he writes about flying.

Help! I'm a Sunday School Teacher
Published in Paperback by Zondervan (01 April, 1996)
Author: Ray Johnston
Average review score:

A small but powerful book
This book is extremely valuable for anyone who teaches within a Religious Education program but is especially usefull for teacher's of youth Sunday School. "Help! I'm a Sunday School Teacher! : Fifty Ways to Make Sunday School Come Alive" is packed with a lot more than 50 ideas for helping Sunday School. The ideas are not ground-breaking (in fact, most of them will be things that you'll think "I could have come up with that!") but the book will remind you the little things that you should do to make your class better. Ray Johnston encourages creativity within the reader and gives some practical creative suggestions. There are many books that tell people that they should be better teachers. This book tells people HOW to be better teachers. That's why I gave it to all my Sunday School teachers and I think other ministers should do the same.

Hermanos De LA Luz: Brothers of the Light (Heartsfire Spirituality Series)
Published in Hardcover by Heartsfire Books (March, 1998)
Authors: Ray John De Aragon and Ray John De Aragon
Average review score:

This is an excellent book on New Mexico history and culture!
The author has done a great job of researching the Penitente Brotherhood! This little known and misunderstood group of religious men have been malinged and misrepresented by many previous writers. This book finally brings to light the spirituality and deep religious devotion of these followers of the teachings and Passion of Jesus Christ. It also corrects much of the misinformation that has been published by others and gives us a much better understanding of the lay brotherhood. Hispanic women who were also dedicated to emulating Christ and Mary are finally given the credit that they deserve in promoting the traditions, history, culture and heritage of the centuries old religious teachings of the Catholic Church. Any reader that wishes to have first hand knowledge of Hispanic culture stemming from Spain and which was carried to the Americas by the settlers and which was concentrated in New Mexico should read this book which also includes the beautiful religious hymns or religious poetry of the area.

Average review score:

A highly recommended "take-along" guide
From historic wineries in California's Sonoma and Napa Counties to back roads, lodging in small retreats, and dining in recommended establishments, Hidden Wine Country seeks to uncover less-traveled roads in the Wine Country - and does it successfully. Hidden Wine Country is quite an achievement for an area over-saturated with publicity: the authors specialize in finding the unusual, quality experience. Hidden Wine Country is a highly recommended "take-along" guide.

High Resolution X-Ray Diffractometry Topography
Published in Hardcover by Taylor & Francis (15 August, 1998)
Authors: D. Keith Bowen, Brian K. Tanner, and Keith D. Bowen
Average review score:

A review
This is a new generation book. Most books available in the field cover the whole history of the X-ray scattering theories and applications. Then, specific applications that are very important in our days for industries and scientific researches are not properly treated. This book does begin where other related books have finished. The issues covered are not found anywhere else together, in a same volume, as they are here. It is fundamental to the new era of materials characterization.

High-Resolution Ct of the Lung
Published in Hardcover by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Publishers (January, 2001)
Authors: W. Richard Webb, Nestor Luiz Muller, and David P. Naidich
Average review score:

Probably the best book written on this topic
Really comprehensive coverage of technique and interpretation of HR-CT of the lung. Almost any disease, even the rare ones are covered. A must-have for radiologists working in this field.

High-Resolution X-Ray Scattering from Thin Films and Multilayers (Springer Tracts in Modern Physics, 149)
Published in Hardcover by Springer Verlag (April, 1999)
Authors: Vaclav Holy, Ullrich Pietsch, and Tilo Baumbach
Average review score:

Pushing the limits in x-ray diffraction
The book provides an excellent introduction in high resolution x-ray diffraction (HRXRD) of thin films and multilayers. It covers the necessary x-ray equipment to perform HRXRD (x -ray sources, optical elements, difractometers) as well as the diffraction theory. The use of HRXRD is also demonstrated by lots of examples, most of them up to date research experiments. The book is well written and gives the advanced student an insight in a modern field of solid state physics and the experimentalist lots of useful hints on performing measurements.
